About Us

Our food philosophy is simple and honest. We offer everything from a build-your-own brunch to hearty salads, tasty small dishes, and delicious sandwiches. Our pride and joy also lies in our homemade cakes, created with care and love from our own recipes. All our food is made from scratch, with focus on plant -based ingredients; we strive to embrace the vegetarian and vegan universe as well as providing meat options. Supporting local is also a central part of our mission, and we work diligently to incorporate more local ingredients.

We look forward to welcoming you to our café, where our goal is to provide you with an unforgettable experience, filled with warmth, hospitality, and delicious food.
“Step into our living room, where you are warmly welcome!"

History and core values

The name Satchmo was Louis Armstrong’s nickname and is an abbreviation of ‘Satchel Mouth’. I have often been asked why I didn’t change the name of the earlier jazz café. When considering a new name, I was overwhelmed by the positive memories people had of Café Satchmo from their youth. I realized that I didn’t wish to erase all those good memories and decided to build on this positive karma. So Café Satchmo remained unchanged….and a revival began.

My upbringing in England has deeply influenced me, and it is precisely the warmth and atmosphere of the local English pubs that I have wanted to capture and share with our café guests: The feeling of stepping into your own living room and being at home.

Running this café is a passion, and I want everyone who visits it to feel like honored guests in my home. Providing excellent service brings me joy, and I appreciate fulfilling customers' needs, sometimes even before they realize them. We want our café to be filled with love and hospitality.

I have now run the café for fifteen years, and it means much more than just a livelihood. It has become a lifestyle and a source of joy for me. The café has become a place where people gather, connections are formed, and life stories unfold. I feel privileged to meet so many wonderful people and be a part of their journey.
