Café Satchmo was founded with a passion for creating a unique café experience where taste, ambiance, and companionship converge. Our values are deeply rooted in love for our craftsmanship, service, and quality, and we aim to share this love with our guests every day.
Café Satchmo features a charming cobblestone courtyard amidst green trees and views of the beautiful old houses that surround it. When the weather permits, you can sit in a cozy and tranquil setting, sheltered from Roskilde's bustling pedestrian street.
We have tried to preserve some of the venue's history, which was once a workshop, by highlighting the structural pillars, the ceiling, and by recreating the raw brick walls.
One of our spaces can also be booked for parties and events, where you can share your special moments with loved ones.
Café Satchmo is more than just a café; it's a place where you can relax, meet friends, work, or simply enjoy your own time. A place where you can find respite in an otherwise hectic daily life.
Our menu offers everything from breakfast, lunch, and homemade cakes to brunch all day long. Our menu features many small dishes, allowing you to create your favorite brunch combinations. Our lunch dishes are generously sized, packed with whole grains and greens.
We take great care to ensure that our menu embraces all kinds of diners, with vegan, vegetarian or meat options available. In addition, we treat you to homemade American cookies, coconut cakes, date cakes (no sugar added), carrot cake, apple cake, gluten-free chocolate cake and vegan cake, which are a regular part of our assortment.
Our coffee is sourced from the local roastery, Just Coffee, which exclusively deals in organically grown coffee from small producers and cooperatives. These cooperatives ensure that small-scale farmers, often families, receive a fair price (fair trade) for their coffee, well above the world market price. Naturally, we also use organic and locally produced milk from Danish cows, with our whole milk sourced from Mannerup Møllegård in Osted. Additionally, we offer organic skim milk, soy milk, and oat milk.
